In 1900, there were 1,880 “Christian” denominations in the world. In 2000, there were 33,800 “Christian” denominations in the world. There were a multitude of reasons for this astronomical increase in denominations and each was warranted in the minds of those that began a new group. Sadly, many of these groups came about because of contention, con ict, and splits. Would Jesus be pleased? What causes churches to splinter and how can we avoid the pain of a family feud?
