Uprooted from his native land in Judah, Daniel was planted in the wicked soil of Babylon as a young man. As we read his story, we find Daniel is not just surviving in pagan Babylon, but thriving in this foreign land! Daniel is more than a biography of a godly prophet or a prophetic book about the future, but it is primarily about Daniel's God! The message of the book of Daniel is that in spite of present conditions, God is in control. Many of us would agree that this is a much needed reminder to us today, and for the next few months, my prayer is we learn not just about Daniel, but deepen our understanding and faith in God!
