Day after day for years, decades, even centuries...the blood of animals was continually poured out upon the altar in the tabernacle and the temple. Finally the perfect sacrifice came and placed Himself upon the altar as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Since the offering of the perfect Sin-bearer...the blood of animals is no longer needed and a more effective way of relating to God has been established.
