Why should church history matter? In our culture, we value personal history, American history and Texas history but we do not value church history. To be an American or a Texan does not mean we are one individually, but it does mean we are part of a people, both past and present. The same is true spiritually. Christians are part of a bigger story than just here and now, and how we view ourselves in light of that past will affect how we live in the present.
