After responding to the Gospel message, the Galatians were being seduced by false teachers into believing a different gospel. They were teaching that faith in Christ must be supplemented by obeying the laws of Moses. This false message also created division in the body of Christ destroying unity between brethren. Paul uses six different arguments in the next two chapter to support the doctrine of justification by grace alone and its outworking including the unity in the body.
