G.O. Strategy Team
The global outreach strategy team, led by our Global Outreach Pastor, strives to cast vision, equip new goers, care for current goers, and nurture relationships between our partners and our local church body. New applications for cross-cultural work, support requests from current partners, G.O. events, and mobilization efforts are all responsibilities of this generous group of TBCers.
Meet The Team
James Carroll
James Carroll is married to Linda. They have two daughters - Laura Bersoza and Tiffany Elkins - and five grandchildren. They have attended TBC for over fifteen years. Having traveled to many places in the world, James developed a burden for the millions who haven’t heard the gospel. His passion is to “hold the rope” for our goers so that they receive all of the support and encouragement that they need.
Rebecca Cagle
Rebecca Cagle is married to Kevin. They have two sons - Luke and Philip. They've been at TBC since 2001. One of the things that drew them to TBC was its emphasis on missions: 20% of the budget goes to missions, the number of people TBC supports and sends as well as two partnerships overseas (Ukraine & Rwanda). Later, as a family, they had the honor and privilege to serve as TBC representatives to work alongside our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. Rebecca says, now, getting to serve on the strategy team is like working behind the scenes. It's such a joy and privilege to support our fellow brothers and sisters, to be part of the continuing vision of going, giving and serving.
Rachel Whisman
Rachel has been at TBC for the past nine years. She started attending as a freshman at UMHB, go CRU! She has thoroughly enjoyed serving on the strategy team as she has gotten to meet our missionaries behind the G.O. prayer cards. As well as getting to behold God being glorified and praised among the nations through our missionaries.
Charlie Stoner
Charlie & Vivian Stoner have three married children and seven grandchildren. They worked in theological education in Brazil as TBC missionaries from 1972 to 2010 with Crossworld. Their retirement ministry at TBC, 2010 to present, has included PaceSetters, MOPS, Global Outreach Team, Elder Board, and Examined Life Sunday School Class.
Abril Hower
Abril is married to Jody Hower, and they have two children, Anthony and Tiffany. She studied at Puebla Bible Seminary in Mexico, where she and Jody met, married, and later moved to Temple, joining TBC in 1998. After starting the Koinonia Camp and Conference Center in Mexico with CAM International in 2002, they returned to Temple in 2008 to engage in local Hispanic ministries. In 2014, they joined Leadership Development International and moved to China, returning to Temple in 2019. Abril now teaches Spanish and Missions at Providence Preparatory School in Belton, TX.
