Featuring: Caroline Cobb & Cynthia Bennett
About Caroline: Singer-songwriter Caroline Cobb is passionate about telling God’s Story through music, helping you rehearse and respond as you listen. Her newest album, Psalms: The Poetry of Prayer, builds on previous Story-telling projects A King & His Kindness (2021), A Seed, A Sunrise (2020), The Blood + The Breath (2013), and A Home & A Hunger (2017), the latter being named among The Gospel Coalition’s “Best Albums of the 2010’s.” Caroline lives in Dallas with her husband, Nick, and three children.
About our Speaker:
Cynthia Bennett, from Nashville, TN, nearly lost her life and had to have a portion of her spine re-built because of a cliff-jumping injury in 2012. This near-death experience gave her an even greater passion for preserving intentional video moments and stories while we can. She wanted to help other people do this too, so in 2019, she and her friend/business partner launched an app called, Life in Videos. The Life in Videos app has interview-like prompts that encourage video storytelling and preserve these important stories and moments safely in the cloud.
Details for the Retreat:
Join us for a day of worship, testimony and the practice of spiritual disciplines to lead you to a closer and deeper relationship with God. We will enjoy a day together at the Creekside Building of TBC. We will learn about the discipline of sharing your story and your families stories with a special video app called Life in Videos. The developer of this app, Cynthia Bennett from Nashville, TN, will be our speaker and guide us in the practice of recording our stories.
Doors will open as early as 8:30 am to register. The morning session will be from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Lunch boxes (Jason’s Deli) and drinks will be available from 12 pm- 1pm. In the afternoon session from 1 pm – 4 pm, we will learn about sharing the story of God in song. We will hear a testimony from singer/songwriter Caroline Cobb on how she incorporates the story of God in the songs that she writes. We will listen and learn as we enjoy a concert with Caroline and a band member. We’ll wrap up with an afternoon snack and fellowship time!
