Welcome to C-Life
C-Life’s Vision: To cultivate relational communities where student’s affections and loyalties are transformed to embrace SURRENDER, COMMUNITY & MISSION as they encounter Jesus in His Word, His church and His Spirit. (We believe these values to be abundantly present whenever God moves in & through His people!)
Sundays at TBC
Waffles & The Word: Show up early for waffles each Sunday with your choice of toppings. Afterwards, we gather for worship and applicational teaching, hearing the Word of God call us to SURRENDER our goals and priorities for God’s. Most students then join the rest of our church body for “big church” in the main auditorium. Sundays, 9:30 AM in The Creekside Building (Waffles served 9-9:30).
Family Group: Speaking of the “rest of our church body,” students can organize a friend-group of 4-8 students and get “adopted” by a couple/family in our church for an occasional meal, in order to establish a home-away-from-home. (Forms available in the college room. One student will need to serve as “The Liaison” to help plan dates with their host family.)
Wednesdays at UMHB
C-Life meets Wednesday’s, 6:30-8:30 P.M., on campus at The University of Mary Hardin Baylor during the fall & spring semesters. The first part of our time takes place in Hughes Auditorium (in Presser Hall) where we gather to reconnect and then hear about current activities and a short 10-minute challenge from Shannon, before we head out to our various Life-Group locations around campus. The second part of our time is spent with our Life-Group which is a gender specific small group of 8-15 students. Together Life-Groups discuss a passage of Scripture and spring-board into the many life-questions that God’s Word presses on. Our hope is to see the Holy Spirit transform these Life-Groups into a thriving COMMUNITY where students share life together and are shaped to become useful ambassadors for Christ.
ONE is a worship gathering at UMHB that occurs twice a semester. It is an attempt to “act out the unity” of the body of Christ. Consequently, students from any and all churches, denominations and ministries are invited to come and worship Jesus together. 8:00-9:15 P.M. on Wednesdays (tbd) in Walton Chapel.
Menucha: A Place Of Rest! (No, really…that’s what it means!) This is our annual Fall Retreat where 100+ students gather together to be refreshed and renewed through recreation (The blob, hiking, dodge-ball, No-Talent Show & Dance Party!), time in the Word, reflection and prayer, all while enjoying the great food and facilities at “The Springs” of Forest Glen in Rosebud, Texas. October 18-20. Cost: $75 ($35 deposit & balance at the retreat).
Throughout the year, students are regularly challenged to recalibrate their thinking and live MISSIONALLY as there are many opportunities for them to serve one another, other ages in the church, the lost, the poor, the widows and those in need around the world.
