SELAH...is a musical term that occurs 71 times in the Psalms.
SELAH means to rest, pause, listen! As we look at several Psalms this summer, my prayer is that you will...rest, pause and listen to the words of this ancient hymnal. The Psalter could be called the “national hymnal of Israel.” Psalm 1 is “the gatekeeper” of the 150 Psalms that are in the Scriptures. Each Psalm has a different focus as do the varied hymns found in any hymnal or contemporary chorus that we sing. As we unlock the first Psalm, hopefully this will open the door to a rich book that will bring comfort and encouragement to each of us
