The Fall of Saul
The nation of Israel wanted a king and God gave them their desire. They chose a man who was externally attractive, but internally bankrupt to be their first king. Saul’s impulsive nature and disobedient heart resulted in a haunting statement by God, “I regret that I have made Saul king...” (I Samuel 15:11). No one wants to live in such a way that they hear God speaking words of regret about them!
