Bible Text: I Samuel 8:1-15:35 | Speaker: Gary DeSalvo | Series: Prophets and Kings
The nation of Israel wanted a king, they ignored the warning of the prophet (Samuel) and God gave them their desire. They chose a man who was externally attractive, but internally bankrupt to be their first king. Saul’s impulsive nature and disobedient heart, resulted in a haunting statement by God, “I regret that I have made Saul king…” (I Samuel 15:11). The people’s poor decision to reject the prophet’s warning would create havoc in the nation.
