A Letter from Prison
Paul had a deep love for the church, especially the church at Ephesus. He
had lived and ministered for three years in Ephesus. From a prison cell (3:1; 4:1; 6:20), he writes to his friends encouraging them to utilize the riches (1:7;3:8,16) they had been given in Christ (used 15 times) so the church might flourish by bringing glory to God (1:3).
