Luke 14:1-11

Confrontation

One Sabbath, when he went to dine at the house of a ruler of the Pharisees, they were watching him carefully. – Luke 14:1

Humiliation

When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him… – Luke 14:8

Exaltation

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. – Luke 14:11

In this life…
If we begin with humility, we might be exalted.
If we begin with self-exaltation, we might be humiliated.

In the kingdom…
If we begin with humility, we will be exalted.
If we begin with self-exaltation, we will be humiliated.

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… – Philippians 2:9-10a
