Luke 10:38-42

The Beauty of Serving Jesus

Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. – Luke 10:38

The Danger of Being Distracted for Jesus

But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” – Luke 10:40

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life… – Psalm 27:4

The Tenderness of Being Corrected by Jesus

But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things…” – Luke 10:41

The Necessity of Receiving from Jesus

“…but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:42

Before Jesus calls us to serve Him, He invites us to receive from Him.
