Jesus Appoints the 72

Luke 10:1

• What? Heralds of the coming King.
• How? “Let your life shine before others…”
• Why? Jesus had 6 months to cover 7500 sq. miles.

The Harvest Is Plentiful

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” – Luke 10:2

People will not magically come to us. We are called to “Go!”

Rejecting the Gospel Brings Judgment

Luke 10:13–16

• Woe to Chorazin, Bethsaida, Capernaum.
• “The one who rejects you rejects Me.”

John 3:18

• “Whoever does not believe is condemned already.”

The Return of the 72

Luke 10:17-20

• “Even the demons are subject to us…”
• Jesus: “I saw Satan fall like lightning.”
• Rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

Is your name written in the Book of Life?

• Hidden from the “wise,” revealed to little children.
• Only the Son reveals the Father.
