God’s Heart and Plan for Vulnerable Children

God’s Heart – Father to the Fatherless

• Exodus 22:22 – “You shall not mistreat a widow or fatherless child.”
• Deuteronomy 10:18 – “He executes justice for the fatherless.”
• Deuteronomy 27:19 – “‘Cursed be anyone who perverts the justice due to the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’”
• Psalm 82:3 – “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.”
• Psalm 146:9 – “The Lord watches over the sojourners; He upholds the widow and the fatherless.”
• Isaiah 1:17 – “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.”
• James 1:27 – “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”

God’s Plan – He Sets the Lonely in Families

The Church is the vehicle God will use to accomplish His plan for vulnerable children.
