THE HUMBLE SERVANT LIFE
Ephesians 4
#3 in A New Chapter
Tim Cartwright
Four Commands that lead us to Adopting a Humble-Servant Life:
→ Command 1:
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit.” Phil. 2:3a
→ Command 2:
“In humility, count others more significant than yourselves.” Phil. 2:3b
→ Command 3:
“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also tothe interest of others.” Phil. 2:4
→ Command 4:
“Have this mind among yourselves which is yours in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 2:5
Two Results of the Ultimate Act of Humble Service:
1. Jesus is ___________. Phil. 2:9, Matt. 23:12
2. Every __________ will bow and every __________ will confess. Phil. 2: 10, 11
“And the great teaching of the New Testament is that God has paid the price. He has redeemed us. Christ became our Redeemer. To release the slaves of sin He paid the price. We were in captivity. We were in the strong grip of evil. We could not break free. But the price was paid and the result is that we go free.” – Leon Morris
