The Purpose of Church Discipline (from Jonathan Leeman):
- Discipline aims to ___________ (1 Cor 5:1-2).
- Discipline aims to ___________ (1 Cor 5:3-5).
- Discipline aims to ___________ (1 Cor 5:3-5).
- Discipline aims to ___________ (1 Cor 5:6-8).
- Discipline aims to present a good ___________ for Jesus (1 Cor 5:9-12)
There is a great difference between the world being in the Church and the Church being in the world. The world is not to gain any hold in the Church—by its attitudes and standards—but the Church is to be in the world affecting it for good. That is why its difference from the world is so important. We are to be in the world as our Savior was. It is possible to love people without loving or countenancing their sins. – David Prime
