Connie and Spouses of Sex Addicts

WoTBC Stories | Series 1: Episode 2

Often what is most difficult to talk about is most important to talk about.

60% of men and 30% of women struggle with pornography and sexual addiction. These numbers stretch across socioeconomic classes and into christian ministry. With the access of internet into the hands of children, not only are these numbers likely to increase, but the age of addicts is getting as young as 9,10, and 11 years old.

Connie Spiegel shares openly about being the spouse of a husband with a sexual addiction. It is important to delineate that every situation is different and that the reasons for Bob and Connie’s choice to reconcile may not be relevant for another couple. One of the big factors that made restoring the marriage appropriate for Bob & Connie is that Connie’s husband was repentant and seeking victory through Christ over his sin. What is also important to mention is that Connie was not in physical danger in her marriage and we are not condoning a women to stay in a situation where she could be physically harmed.

Connie is a Certified Professional Coach, and a trauma coach for partners of sex addicts through APSATS (The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists).
